The Concordia Board of Aldermen held a discussion regarding renovations to the Water Treatment Facility during its meeting on Monday, June 2.

Water Superintendent Joseph Boynton was at the meeting to discuss the overall needs of the city’s water distribution system with the board. City Administrator Dale Klussman says the board discussed renovations at the Water Treatment Facility, which has been in service for more than 20 years.

The board took no action following this discussion, but Klussman says the board will look to start improvements on the entire water system as a whole.

Aldermen did receive a bid from Blue Springs Winwater Works for automatic flushing units that would help circulate water throughout the distribution system during the city’s annual chlorine conversion. Klussman says the board gave approval purchase four of these units.

The board also voted to replace two city computers in the amount of $3,976.
