Dona Carlene (Wylie) Blackburn, 92, of Malta Bend, MO, died on Saturday, May 31, 2025, in Crosby, TX.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow in Malta Bend Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Born on July 14, 1932, in Milwaukee, WI, Dona was the daughter of the late Wilmer and Sally Wylie. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1950. She married the late Richard David Blackburn on July 20, 1957. Dona always wanted a big family, and she and David raised eight children together. She was involved with The United Methodist Church of Malta Bend, United Methodist Women, The Women’s Legion Auxiliary (Post 558), and many bridge groups over the years. She loved playing bridge and played with the Queen’s Finnesse group until she moved to Texas in 2023. She volunteered at the Malta Bend Community Clothes Closet for several years as well as working the elections in Malta Bend. Dona also loved working in the flower beds around her home. She was skilled at knitting, sewing, and crocheting and always had a project of some kind in the works. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her children: Jan VanGordon (Sean) of Spring Hill, KS, Michael (Robin) Blackburn of LaMonte, MO, Shelly Blackburn of Providence, RI, Rick (Joan) Blackburn of Malta Bend, MO, Sara (Phil) Blackburn-Ortiz of Dickinson, TX, Brian Blackburn of Corder, MO, and Stacey (Jerry) Hurtado of Crosby, TX;18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lana Sandweiss; and two brothers, Wayne Wylie and Donald Wylie.
