UPDATE @ 6:20 a.m., June 5, 2025: The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 62-year-old Vandalia man who was a passenger in the SUV was transferred to a Columbia hospital, where he was pronounced dead Wednesday morning around 4:30 a.m.

A Moberly man was among two people injured Tuesday, June 3 after his vehicle went off a Northeast Missouri highway.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 36-year-old was driving his SUV west on Route 154 near the Elk Fork branch of Mark Twain Lake, about five miles east of Paris. At around 10:30 p.m., the vehicle went off the left side of the highway. The SUV overturned, ejecting both him and a 62-year-old passenger from Vandalia. Both men suffered moderate injuries and were taken to a Hannibal hospital. Troopers say both men were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
