A Warrensburg man was arrested following an investigation into the online possession of child sexual abuse material.

The case began in February 2025, after the Western Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children (WMICAC) Task Force received a cyber tip that prompted a joint investigation with the Warrensburg Police Department. Detectives served a search warrant at a residence located in the 400 block of Creach Drive, in Warrensburg, where several electronic devices were seized for forensic examination. The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Marioangel Alverado II was taken into custody on Wednesday, June 4.

Authorities located 23 video files containing child sexual abuse material uploaded on the devices.

Alverado has been charged with five felony counts of possession of child pornography. The court has set a bond at $150,000 cash only. Alverado II is currently being held in the Johnson County Jail pending further legal proceedings.

An initial appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday, June 6 in Johnson County.
