
Two solo home runs weren’t enough for the Kansas City Royals, who fell 7-2 to the Chicago White Sox on Friday, June 6.
The White Sox struck first in the second inning with an RBI single from Luis Robert Jr.
The Royals responded with a pair of solo homers in the third. Maikel Garcia and Vinnie Pasquantino went back-to-back to give Kansas City the lead. The lead would be short-lived though, as the White Sox tied the game in the fifth after a homer from Mike Tauchman.
The game remained tied until the eighth inning, when Chicago exploded for five runs aided by two Royals errors and and a wild pitch.
Seth Lugo picked up a no-decision for the Royals, going five innings, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks.
Kansas City falls to 33-31 on the season, 8.5 games behind Detroit in the AL Central. The Royals will look to even the series today, with Michael Wacha making the start. Pregame begins at 2:30 p.m., with first pitch at 3:10 on KMMO AM 1300.
