The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works has accepted a bid for asphalt work at the UV Building.
Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent Eric Perkins says the existing driveway going up the hill to the north of the UV Building is gravel and washes out every time it rains. The board opened bids to asphalt this portion of the driveway on June 3.
The board received four bids for the work, accepting the low-bid from Higgins Asphalt in the amount of $18,310.
In other news, MMU General Manager Jeff Bergstrom says a draft agreement for a wastewater treatment plant at the Marshall Junction has been reviewed and is almost ready for approval. MMU would operate and maintain the plan and be reimbursed for all expenses by the county. Bergstrom says he hopes to bring the agreement to the board during a future meeting in July.
