The Moberly School District Board of Education has approved updated stipends for coaches of MSHSAA-sanctioned sports and activities.
The board reviewed the proposal at their regular meeting Tuesday night. Supt. Cristina Wright says the one-time stipends come as part of an ongoing salary review.
Coaches with at least ten years experience will receive a $1000 stipend, while those with five years of experience will receive $500. Wright details what her activities department will consider in their salary review.
Also Tuesday night, the district approved adding a stipend position for a sponsor of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) chapter. Wright says the district is adding early childhood career courses at the Moberly Area Technical Center, with the opportunity for students to gain experience at the district’s Little Spartans Clubhouse. The school board also accepted the low bid of $12,954.89 from Smith Heating and Cooling for the installation of new air conditioning units at the Little Spartans Clubhouse, and authorized an increase of ten cents for meal prices next school year.
