The Missouri Department of Transportation has set a pair of public meetings later this month to present their proposed improvements to U.S. Route 65 between Warsaw and Buffalo.
The come-and-go open house meetings are scheduled for the next two Tuesdays, the first in Buffalo on June 17 at the Buffalo High School cafeteria, and the second at the Harry S Truman Visitor Center in Warsaw on June 24. Both meetings will run from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The public will have the opportunity to view exhibits pertaining to the improvements planned for the route through Benton, Dallas and Hickory counties. Among the proposed upgrades, MoDOT is planning to convert the Route 65 intersection with Route 7 south of Warsaw into a roundabout, as well as two intersections along the highway near Buffalo. MoDOT is also planning to introduce alternating passing lanes in nine locations along the 47-mile stretch. The project is expected to start in the winter of 2027 and has a current price tag of $59.2 million.
Anyone unable to attend either in-person meeting can view MoDOT’s plans and additional project information on their website.
