The Carrollton R-7 School District Board of Education approved the proposal from the Salary Committee for an increase in staff salaries during its meeting Monday, June 9.
Superintendent Tinna Croy met with the committee throughout the spring to determine the best option for the district’s staff for the 2025-2026 budget year. Croy says the committee decided to propose a three percent increase for staff, which was then approved by the board.
After approval of the salary increase, the board then shifted to the approval of the 2025-2026 budget. The budget was approved with no major changes from the previous year. Croy did note that architects from Insight Design will be arriving on campus soon to help plan projects for the 2026-2027 budget year.
In other news, the board reviewed the 2025-2026 Student Handbook, emphasizing the policy banning cell phones during the school day after the state legislature passed Senate Bill 68. Croy says the district already had a policy in place, but just wanted to remind students of the rule.
