Central Methodist University has announced the resignation of Shannon Jeffrey as head coach of the Eagle men’s and women’s golf programs.

Jeffrey coached the Eagles the past two seasons, guiding them to a combined five tournament titles and 13 top-three tournament finishes. Individual accolades for Jeffrey’s golfers including sophomore Cole Wiese making the Heart of America all-conference team, along with six NAIA scholar athletes. This past season the CMU women finished fifth at the Heart tournament, while the men improved three places to finish eighth. Also during his tenure, CMU opened an indoor training facility for the program that is located on the Fayette Square.

In a statement, CMU athletic director Jeff Sherman says that Jeffrey made CMU a better place, and that he wishes Jeffrey and his family “much live and happiness as they move to St Louis to be closer to family.”
