Marshall Main Street’s workshop with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Missouri Main Street Connection is concluding tonight with a public presentation in the Malcolm Center for Student Life on the Missouri Valley College Campus.

The event kicked off Monday afternoon with a tour of the district and a series of meetings with various property owners. A team of specialists and architects met with community members to discuss targeted recommendations and resources to help revitalize the city’s downtown area. The team is comprised of Main Street Iowa Economic Vitality Specialist Jim Thompson, Community Design Solutions architect Randy Wilson, Arnett Muldrow and Associates brand specialist Ben Muldrow, and Missouri Main Street Connection Senior Program Specialist Ben White.

Muldrow, who focuses primarily on promotion, marketing, and branding, spoke about the positive impact this workshop could have on the city. He says he and his team will help give Marshall Main Street guidance to help stimulate economic growth and preserve the character of the city’s historic buildings in the downtown district.

The workshop will wrap up this evening with a final presentation where each of the specialists deliver their recommendations and findings. Muldrow says each specialist is focusing on a different component of the presentation.

This presentation is open to the public. The presentation will begin at 6 p.m. in the Malcolm Center on MVC’s campus.
