The Carrollton Town Council approved an updated ordinance Monday, June 16, setting a time limit for how long a non-running car can remain on someone’s property.

Mayor Keith Higgins tells KMMO News that the amended ordinance will allow a resident up to 60 days to repair or relocate a non-running car. The ordinance was initially proposed last month before being tabled for further deliberation. The Town Council also decided Monday to not go forward with seeking additional bids for the city-owned lots on the 100 block of South Main, after receiving an insufficient bid at their last council meeting.

In new business, the town council agreed to the nomination of Ashley Ahnefeld to the Library Board, and received an update on improvements to the Little League building and driveway. Higgins says work to the building will start in the next few days. The council also approved a liquor license for a new business owned by Mark England.

Higgins also reported that he had just submitted an application for Carrollton’s Parks and Recreation department to purchase new picnic tables. He added that if selected, Carrollton could receive up to $41,300 for the grant, without needing to provide a match.
