The Concordia Board of Aldermen held a discussion over improving and updating the city’s pretreatment ordinance during its meeting Monday, June 16.

The city’s current ordinance lacks legal authority to govern wastewater pretreatment. City Administrator Dale Klussman says the city has been meeting with representatives from KimHEC Environmental Consulting in preparation of drafting an ordinance that would be approved by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

The board accepted the proposal from KimHEC in the amount of $41,237.

In other news, the board adopted a congratulating the 2025 Concordia Lady Orioles Softball Team for winning their second consecutive MSHSAA Class 1 Championship.
