New Moberly Police Chief Bobby Calvert was administered the Oath of Office during the meeting of the City Council on Monday, June 16.

Calvert was previously appointed as Interim Chief following the retirement of former Chief Troy Link in March. Community Relations Manager Scott McGarvey says representatives from Moberly PD and other regional agencies came to show their support of Calvert.

In other news, the council approved a resolution authorizing the 2025 Christmas Parade route. McGarvey says the parade will run down Reed Street.

McGarvey says this resolution also authorizes the public consumption of alcohol during the event.
