The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced the immediate closure of the Route PP bridge over the Middle Fork of the Chariton River, a mile east of Salisbury.

In their announcement, MoDOT says that a routine inspection of the bridge Tuesday, June 17 identified deterioration to the bridge deck and structure that warranted the closure. The bridge is scheduled for replacement this summer as part of the Northwest Bridge Bundle by the design-build team of Capital Paving and Horner & Shifrin.

Motorists will need to use an alternate route to detour around the closure.
