
Jac Caglianone broke out with the first two homers of his MLB career, helping the Kansas City Royals sweep the Texas Rangers in a 4-1 victory on Thursday, June 18.
The Royals set the tone early, when Vinnie Pasquantino sent a two-run homer over the right field fence in the first inning. In the second, Jac Caglianone hammered a 95 mph fastball to center field for his first career home run to make it 3-0 Kansas City.
The Rangers finally got to Michael Wacha in the sixth inning, scoring a run after an RBI double from Marcus Semien. Wacha finished the game going six innings, allowing two hits and two walks.
Caglinone hit his second career homer in the ninth, giving the Royals a little more breathing room. Carlos Estevez had a lock down ninth to pick up his 21st save.
The Royals improve to 38-39 on the season. They will next travel to San Diego for the start of a three game series with the Padres beginning Friday. Pregame is at 8 p.m., with first pitch at 8:40 on KMMO FM 102.9.
