For the second straight June, sales tax collections remitted to Saline County surpassed $134,000.

According to Saline County Treasurer Jared Brewer, Saline County received $134,165.69 in June, based on collections during the month of May. That’s surpassed only by collections from the previous June, which totaled $134,839.07. Compared to the previous month, June’s totals were up 19 percent. The county’s law enforcement and economic development taxes were also up by similar figures.

Use tax collections during May were up slightly from the previous month and over a year ago. Saline County brought in $98,289.22, up $1123.35 from a month ago and 18 percent better than the previous year. Halfway through 2025, Saline County has averaged $115,730.96 per month in sales, law enforcement, and economic development tax collections, along with $99,399.27 per month in use tax collections.

Brewer presented the monthly totals during Wednesday’s Saline County Commission meeting. The figures are compiled and remitted by the Missouri Department of Revenue.
