Andre Pallante tossed six scoreless innings as the St. Louis Cardinals knocked off the Cincinnati Reds 6-1 on Friday, June 20.

Pallante out-dueled Reds starter Brady Singer, scattering two hits and a walk over six scoreless frames.

The Cardinals took the lead in the third after a sacrifice fly from Alec Bureleson.

The Redbirds added to their lead in the seventh with RBI hits from Masyn Winn and Lars Nootbar, as well as an RBI walk from Nolan Gorman.

The Reds got on the board in the eighth after Jose Trevino doubled in a run, but Riley O’Brien secured the win for the Cardinals with a scoreless ninth.

St. Louis improves to 41-35, tied with Milwaukee for second in the NL Central and 4.5 games back of Chicago for the division lead. The Cardinals will go for the series win today. First pitch is at 1:15 p.m.
