The Green Ridge R-8 School District Board of Education approved increases in its meal prices for the 2025-2026 school year, as well as bids for the district’s fuel, bread, milk, and other grocery needs during its meeting Wednesday, June 18.

Board President Derik Larimore made a motion to raise the lunch prices for the next school year, setting them at $2.60 for K-6, $2.70 for 7-12, and $2.75 for adult lunch. Breakfast was also set at $1.60. The motion passed with unanimous support from the board.

The board also approved several bids for the upcoming school year. The fuel bid was awarded to Zollicker. The board awarded the milk bid to Hiland Dairy, and the bread bid to Woods. Lastly, the board accepted a two-year grocery bid from Ben Keith for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years.

This school board meeting was also the last for current Superintendent Brett Hieronymus, who is retiring from education after 28 years. New Superintendent Jonathon Petersen will start July 1, 2025.
