UPDATE: MMU is reporting that power should be back as of 2:38 p.m. Some pockets of the city may be without power, but crews are still working at this time.

Marshall Municipal Utilities is responding to a power outage in the northern area of the city.

MMU personnel say that crews are currently working to fix the issue and restore power to residents. MMU has not identified what has caused the outage.

For residents without power, the Salt Fork YMCA lobby can be used as a cooling shelter.
