The Missouri State Highway Patrol says two men from Lincoln were injured after their vehicle skidded off a Benton County roadway Friday, June 27.

According to troopers, an SUV driven by a 24-year-old man was going west on Haw Creek Road past Siegel Avenue, about six miles northeast of Cole Camp. At around 1:20 p.m., the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and skidded before overturning. A 43-year-old man was thrown from the vehicle and is believed to have suffered moderate injuries; troopers say he left the scene before law enforcement arrived. The driver sustained serious injuries and was flown to a Columbia hospital. Troopers add that neither man was wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash.
