The Concordia R-2 Board of Education set breakfast and lunch prices for the upcoming school year and voted to apply for for a State Salary Grant during its meeting on Wednesday, June 25.

Superintendent Theresa Christian says the board approved an increase of ten cents to the meal prices. Christian explained how the district determines its meal prices each year.

Breakfast prices were set at $2.15 for K-6, and $2.30 for 7-12. Lunch prices were set at $2.70 for K-6, $2.80 for 7-8, and $2.90 for 9-12. Extra milk was set at 50 cents.

The board also approved a motion to apply for the $40,000 Minimum State Salary Grant. This grant provides state funding to districts to help them meeting the minimum salary requirements listed in Senate Bill 727. Christian says Governor Mike Kehoe still needs to allocate funding in the state budget before any grants can get awarded.

The board’s next meeting is scheduled for August 12.
