One-time Mizzou standout Michael Porter Jr is about to play in the Big Apple.

ESPN is among several sources reporting that the Denver Nuggets will trade Porter and their 2032 first-round draft pick to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Cameron Johnson. Porter had two years remaining on the $172 million contract he signed in 2021, extending the rookie deal that the Nuggets gave him after drafting Porter 14th overall in the 2018 NBA Draft. Porter had dealt with recurring back injuries during his only year at Mizzou and his first season with Denver. Since then he’d become a key contributor to the Nuggets, averaging 18.2 points and seven rebounds per game last season. In his six years with Denver, Porter amassed the second-highest total of three-pointers in franchise history with 843.
