The Moberly City Council voted to enter into an agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission to complete rail crossing and sidewalk improvements during its meeting on Monday, June 30.

Community Relations Manager Scott McGarvey spoke about some railroad work taking place in the city on Coates Street. McGarvey says the council wanted to enter into this agreement to construct sidewalk crossings at the intersection wit Coates and the railway.

The council approved this agreement with both the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission and Norfolk Southern

The council also authorized a 2025 Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Grant Application for a sidewalk project along North Morley.

The next council meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 14.
