New Green Ridge R-8 School District Superintendent Jonathan Petersen is just days into his new role, but he’s already hard at work settling in and preparing for the start of the next school year.

Petersen has prior experience at Kaysinger School Districts, teaching at Lincoln for two years, serving as Smithton’s High School Principal for ten years, and most recently spending the past three years as Cole Camp’s High School Principal. Petersen reflected on the transition to his new role in Green Ridge and says former superintendent Brett Hieronymus has been helping him every step of the way.

Petersen’s first few days on campus have already been busy, as he has spent time touring the district’s facilities and meeting with various students and staff. Petersen says he’s excited to be a part of the Green Ridge community.

Petersen officially began his new role on July 1. The first day of school for the Green Ridge R-8 School District is set for August 20.
