Saline County’s new Emergency Management Director Brad Hinz jumped into action Tuesday, July 1 to address a different type of emergency: a failure of the county jail’s freezer.

Hinz reported on the situation during Wednesday’s Saline County Commission meeting, where he said the efforts of a local employer helped to prevent the loss of thousands of dollars’ worth of perishable food.

Hinz credited ConAgra for providing the assistance. Prior to becoming Saline County’s new emergency director, Hinz spent nearly 25 years as the county’s chief juvenile officer.
