
Floyd Edward Steding, 93, of Marshall, MO, died Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO, with William W. Harlow officiating. No visitation will be held. Born April 5, 1932, in Slater, MO, he was the son of the late Floyd H. Steding and Mary Marie McIntosh Steding. Floyd graduated from Nelson High School, and he was a Corporal in the Army during the Korean War serving as Military Police. On November 23, 1954, he married Beverly Jean Potter who preceded him in death on October 17, 2022. In his younger years, Floyd enjoyed hunting and fishing. Later in life he loved to tinker with anything construction related. He enjoyed cattle farming and going to cattle auctions.
Floyd is survived by four children: Richard Steding (Vicky) of Marshall, Larry Steding of Marshall, Kelly Davis (Clay) of Marshall and Bruce Steding (Janis) of rural Nelson; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim Steding of Ozark, MO; a sister-in-law, Sue Shelton (Dean) of Marshall; special friend, Betty Bishop; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by one grandson, Jason Steding; and a sister-in-law, Sandra Steding.
