The Concordia Board of Aldermen held a discussion regarding a potential on-call agreement with SMICO Services for work on the city’s water and sewer systems during its meeting on Monday, July 7.

City Administrator Dale Klussman says this agreement would allow SMICO to provide after-hours and emergency work in the city. Klussman also says the board is interested in SMICO’s sewer inspection services.

The board decided propose two amendments to the agreement. Klussman says the first amendment was to change the agreement from a two-year contract to an annual renewal. The second amendment regarded the response time.

Klussman hopes to have a new agreement ready for the board’s approval at their next meeting on Monday, July 22.
