The City of Higginsville has a new reserve police officer in their ranks.

The commission for Joshua O’Dell was approved Monday, July 8 by the Higginsville Board of Aldermen. In her report, city administrator Jeanette Dobson stated that O’Dell had recently participated in a series of ride-alongs with the department.

O’Dell’s commission was the only item considered by aldermen at their meeting. Dobson also noted in her report that she plans to visit with department heads next week to discuss their capital item wish lists.

The next Higginsville Board of Aldermen meeting is scheduled for July 21.
