The Kansas City Royals have signed former Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel to a minor league deal.
The deal will send the two-time All-Star to the team’s training facility in Arizona before joining Triple-A Omaha. Keuchel pitched for the Arkansas Razorbacks in college before he was drafted by Houston in 2009. In 2015 he won the Cy Young award when he went 20-8, posting a 2.48 ERA, and contributed to the Astros’ first World Series title in 2017. He later pitched for the Braves, White Sox, Diamondbacks, Rangers, Twins, and Brewers. Last season he appeared in four games for Milwaukee, ending up with a 5.40 ERA in 16.2 innings.
