bridge-closing-sign-1-8-21

The project to replace a shuttered bridge east of Salisbury will begin July 28.

The Missouri Department of Transportation says crews with Capital Paving and Construction will take down the Route PP bridge over the Middle Fork of the Chariton River and build its replacement designed by Horner & Shifrin. The bridge had been closed last month after an inspection found significant deterioration. It was already marked for replacement as one of the 31 bridges included in MoDOT’s Northwest Bridge Bundle.

Elsewhere in Chariton County this week, Route JJ southwest of Marceline from Twichell Road to Jarrow Road is closed Monday until 2 p.m. for a culvert replacement.
