The Odessa Board of Aldermen approved some changes to the city code regarding how its board meetings are conducted during its meeting on Monday, July 14.

Aldermen first adopted official parliamentary procedures for its future board meetings. Mayor Bryan Barner the board previously didn’t have an official policy in place to help govern the meetings.

Barner says the board adopted Robert’s Rules of Order and hopes the procedures will help make meetings more efficient.

The board also approved a change to the start times of its meeting. The start time for future board meetings will be 6 p.m. This change takes effect August 1.

This change will not affect the board’s next meeting in July, which will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, July 28.
