Three Sedalia residents were taken to the hospital after their pickup was involved in a collision west of Warrensburg on Monday, July 14.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the pickup driven by a 48-year-old man was traveling west on U.S. Route 50, where road work was underway. At around 11:35 a.m., a tractor trailer was slowing for traffic ahead near the intersection with Northwest 191st Road, resulting in the pickup striking the rear of the trailer. The driver sustained serious injuries, while two passengers in the pickup, ages six and three, received minor injuries. The three were taken by ambulance to a Kansas City area hospital. No injuries were reported for the semi truck’s driver.
