One week removed from his trip to Kauffman Stadium as a Pittsburgh Pirate, Adam Frazier will be back in Kansas City soon wearing Royal Blue.
The Royals announced Wednesday morning that Frazier would return to the Royals in a deal that sends minor league infielder Cam Devanney to the Pirates. It’s a quick conclusion for Frazier’s second stint with the Buccos, as he’s played in 78 games this season for Pittsburgh, batting .255 with 60 hits and 21 RBIs. He spent his first five-and-a-half seasons with Pittsburgh, whom he represented as the starting second baseman at the 2021 All-Star Game in Denver. He was then traded to San Diego, and has also played for Seattle and Baltimore. Frazier spent last season with the Royals, making 104 appearances, hitting four home runs and 22 RBIs on a contract that included a mutual option for 2025. The Royals did not exercise that option, resulting in Frazier rejoining Pittsburgh.
Frazier will likely make his return appearance for Kansas City this weekend when the Royals visit the Miami Marlins.
