The Odessa Board of Aldermen will soon request bids for a new engineering firm to complete the city’s Downtown Infrastructure Project.

Aldermen approved a resolution to rebid for a new engineer during its meeting on Monday, July 14. Mayor Bryan Barner says the city has contracted with OWN, LLC for the work, but the board has decided to move on from the firm.

Barner says the project is a complete overhaul of the downtown sidewalks. He notes the project began in 2019, but has been delayed numerous times.

Navigate Building Solutions will be helping the city facilitate the bidding process once its contract with OWN is settled. Barner has not announced when the bidding process will begin.

The board’s next meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 28.
