
The Arizona Diamondbacks jumped all over the St. Louis Cardinals, defeating them 7-3 at Chase Field on Friday, July 18.
Arizona got to Cardinals starter Andre Pallante early, knocking him out of the game after just 4.2 innings. Pallante gave up five runs on nine hits and two walks.
St. Louis couldn’t get on the board until the ninth inning, when Pedro Pages drove home a run with an RBI single, and Victor Scott II blasted a two-run homer to right field.
The Cardinals fall to 51-47, slipping to 7.5 games back of Chicago for the NL Central lead and 2.5 games out of the wild card.
The Cardinals will look to get back on track today. First pitch begins at 6:15 p.m.
