A student at Salisbury High School will start his freshman year next month with a national title in his portfolio.
Luke Britt was one of two students that represented the district’s junior high chapter of FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) at the group’s national leadership conference in Orlando earlier this month. He was one of two students from Missouri that competed in the Job Interview category. Britt tells KMMO News that the contest required him to prepare more than just his interview skills in advance.
Britt first joined FCCLA in sixth grade, the same year his older sister won a national title. He says he qualified for state by earning a gold award as the only competitor at his regional contest.
Also joining Britt at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference this month was Brylee Wallace and chapter adviser Lindsay Ostermann. Britt says he plans to continue his involvement with FCCLA as he makes his way into high school, and will also consider joining Salisbury’s FFA Chapter this fall.
