Three Concordia residents were injured in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 50 early this morning.

A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by a 25-year-old Concordia man ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree on Highway 50, a half mile east of Route Z in Johnson County.

The driver along with two passengers, a 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman both from Concordia, were transported to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Troopers report that none of the vehicle’s occupants were wearing their seat-belts at the time of the accident.

The accident was reported at 4:40 a.m. in Johnson County.
