The Moberly City Council held a discussion regarding demolition services for two grain towers located at 121 North Ault Street.

The Council held a public hearing regarding grant funding for the demolition prior to its July 21 meeting. Community Relations Manager Scott McGarvey notes that after standing for several decades, the council believes it’s time for them to come down.

McGarvey says the council is also seeking funding through the Community Development Block Grant Program to help fund the demolition.

The council did approve the bid from Jeffrey Environmental Services for asbestos inspection services, and the bid from the Northeast Missouri Regional Planning Commission for demolition inspection services.
