
Plans for a new fire station are moving forward after a pair of votes taken at Monday night’s meeting of the Higginsville Board of Aldermen.
Aldermen agreed to rezone the site of the future fire station, on the north edge of the city limits along Route 13, and approved a conditional use permit, allowing a gravel parking lot and driveways. City administrator Jeanette Dobson…
The board also received an update from Higginsville Police on efforts to bring a new drug dog onto the force. Dobson says the K9 will succeed Loki, who recently retired.
Dobson adds that donations will also cover the cost of the new dog’s food and veterinary needs.
Also Monday night, the Higginsville Board of Aldermen renewed their memorandum of understanding with Lafayette County C-I Schools for the School Resource Officer program.
