A deputy with the Saline County Sheriff’s Office was treated for minor injuries after her patrol vehicle went off Interstate 70 on Thursday, July 24.

KMMO News has learned that one of the department’s SUVs had gone off the interstate as the deputy was responding to an emergency. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the vehicle was heading east at around 7:15 p.m. when the SUV went into the median around mile marker 76.8 and struck the cable barrier. The deputy was treated and released from a Columbia hospital. The vehicle took minor damage, and the sheriff’s office was able to drive it from the scene.
