One of the two bridges over Interstate 70 in southeastern Saline County is set to reopen this week.

Missouri Department of Transportation Area Representative Marisela Ward tells KMMO News that crews are putting the final touches on the new Lemon Trail Bridge east of the Marshall Junction, which had to be replaced after it was struck several times. She adds that after crews open this bridge, they’ll turn their attention to replacing the Nitrogen Avenue bridge near mile marker 85.8.

Ward also addressed the issues surrounding the recent resurfacing of Route 240 east of Marshall. She notes that MoDOT is planning for an extensive rebuild of the roadway to the split with Route 41.

Work also continues on a replacement bridge at the Route Y junction in Emma. MoDOT is maintaining a completion date of Dec. 1 for the new span on the Saline/Lafayette County line.
