A Barnett man was killed after his vehicle went off a Morgan County highway early Tuesday, June 29.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 32-year-old was driving north on Route AA about three miles north of Barnett, when at around 5 a.m., the man’s SUV ran off the side of the roadway. Troopers report that caused the driver to overcorrect, sending the vehicle off the left side of the roadway. The SUV then struck an embankment, ejecting the driver. He was flown to a Columbia hospital, where he was pronounced dead about three hours later. Troopers say the driver was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop F, which covers 13 counties in Central Missouri, has recorded four traffic fatalities this month, and 23 thus far in 2025.
