Underground Facilities Director Grant Piper provided an update on a current water main replacement project taking place on College Street during the meeting of the Board of Public Works on Wednesday, July 30.

Piper stated the project is about 80 percent complete, with crews beginning the process of changing over services to the newly installed main. When all services have been switched, the remaining tie-ins at the intersections will be made. Crews will be complete street repairs once proper compaction has been completed.

Bergstrom says it’s imperative for phase one of the project to be complete by September 1, 2026. Bergstrom says crews are planning to begin work on the project’s foundation on August 10.
