The Lafayette County Commission recently approved a contract to begin repairing the roof at the Lafayette County Courthouse.
Northern Commissioner Monica Ritter says the commission received two bids for the project, and accepted the low bid from Rand Construction in the amount of $3.2 million. The project is funded with American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding and money the county saved in the Capital Improvement budget. Ritter tells KMMO News that the project will involve the complete structural restoration of the roof.
The project is scheduled to be complete by December 31, 2025. Ritter notes that the county’s court system and several county offices will have to temporarily move while the work takes place.
The project’s timeline is weather dependent. Ritter thanks Lafayette County residents for their patience as the work takes place over the next few months.
