The Kansas City Current have announced a new two-year deal with defender Kayla Sharples, with a mutual option for the 2028 season.
Sharples arrived in KC last August following a trade with Bay FC. Since her arrival, Sharples has started in 24 games, logging over 2100 minutes. The Naperville, Ill. native also played for her hometown Chicago Stars FC, as well as clubs in Finland and Australia. Sharples has five career goals, and this season is one of two Current players who has logged a full 90 minutes in all of her matches.
