The City of Hughesville is set to receive a $50,000 grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

The grant announced Thursday is from the department’s Clean Water State Revolving Fund and will go toward an evaluation of the community’s wastewater system. Hughesville expected their facility plan to be ready by March 2027. Some funds for the study will be provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The state DNR revolving fund allows cities across Missouri to finance improvements to their wastewater treatment facilities, rehabilitate and expand their sewer collection systems, and correct sewer overflows. The fund also finances security, efficiency, and conservation measures, and offers low-interest loans for qualifying projects.
