
Six area cities will have their regular meetings Monday, Aug. 4, including one who is holding their annual tax rate public hearing.
The Town of Carrollton will begin their meeting Monday at 6 p.m. with a public hearing to set their tax rates for the next year. The town is projecting a slight decrease in assessed property valuations, resulting in a proposed tax rate of $1.5898 cents per $100 of assessed valuation.
Also Monday at 6 p.m., the Higginsville Board of Aldermen will consider a contract with RTS for the city’s residential solid waste disposal services. A mutual aid agreement with the Wellington-Napoleon Fire Protection District will also come before aldermen. Meanwhile, the Moberly City Council will consider bids for a new drive-thru window at City Hall, a professional services agreement for design and planning services for parking improvements at Rothwell Park, and a cooperative agreement for special water use by the Randolph Area YMCA.
The Sedalia City Council will meet Monday at 6:30 p.m., with councilmen expected to receive an update on the Washington Street Bridge project. First Ward Councilman Jack Robinson requested the update at the end of the city’s last council meeting July 21. The council will also consider the purchase of a backhoe for the city’s cemetery.
Also meeting tonight are the Concordia Board of Aldermen at 5 p.m. and the Boonville City Council at 7 p.m.
