The Carrollton Town Council accepted the proposed property tax rate for the next year.

A public hearing opened their regular session Monday, Aug. 4, where the council accepted the proposed rate of $1.5888 cents per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation. 35 cents will go toward the library, while 30 cents is dedicated to parks and recreation, and the remainder allotted to the general fund. The town is budgeting total collections of $620,853.71 for 2025.

Mayor Keith Higgins tells KMMO News that after the council approved the tax rate, they went on to accept the audit for 2024, and amended sections of the personnel manual pertaining to uniform standards. The council also completed the annual adoption of the town’s conflict of interest ordinance.
