
Mary Lou Bockman, 82, of Slater, MO, formerly of Marshall, died Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at her home.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2025, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Inurnment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery north of Marshall. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to until 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Born January 19, 1943, in Clinton, she was the daughter of the late Ralph James and Bertha Ruby James. On September 23, 1961, she married Charles “Chuck” Bockman and they were married for 63 years when he preceded her in death on August 27, 2024. Mary Lou worked outside the home through the years in various occupations, but her favorite role of all was taking care of her family. When she was surrounded by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family of any kind, she was happy to cook and care for all of them. Mary Lou’s legacy of family will never be forgotten.
She is survived by one daughter, Charlene Bockman of Gravois Mills and her children: Nick Steinkuhler (Megan), Lacie Harris (Robert), Aaron Steinkuhler; one son, Rick Bockman and his children: Amber Reyes (Rudy), Racheal Howery (Jeremy), Whitney Barnes (John) and Breanna Bockman (Kevin White); 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Bertha; her husband, Chuck; daughter-in-law, Regina Bockman; four brothers: Ed, Dean, Bob and George James; and two sisters, Kate Kampe and Ellen Jean Moreland.
